Blackstone Valley Co-op won the Rhode Island Division II championship Tuesday night. Colin Dorgan, whose family members were killed in a shooting at the teams Senior Day last month, scored the game-tying goal with less than a minute left in regulation. A truly amazing high school sports story. Colin Dorgan's mother, brother, and grandfather were killed by his trans father in last month's shooting in Rhode Island. He scored the game winning goal in the state semifinals and the game tying goal in the championship. His team ended up winning in 4 OTs.

The Orioles announced today that they will allow fans to enter their ballpark 2.5 hours before first pitch. That will allow them to watch Baltimore take batting practice. The Nationals should do this too. Fans should be able to watch their favorite players take BP. Kids should be able to try to get balls hit by James Wood and Dylan Crews. It enhances engagement, access, and interest. It would also cut down on lines to get into the game right before it starts. It might even also make the team more money based on opening concessions earlier.

Either this is going to be a stirring tribute to the victims and their families of a terrible maritime disaster or it’s going be one of the worst marketing moves of all time. Wow.

@Gametime presented me an unobstructed view of Cubs tickets for a game in July. I bought them. Later, I was on the Cubs website and looked at their map and it showed the seats to be very obstructed. Repeated texts and messages to Gametime have resolved nothing. Pissed.

YIKES: USA closer Mason Miller received his silver medal at the WBC and ripped it off after wearing it for only three seconds. USA players appeared to feel disrespected when they received the trophies on the field after losing in such a humiliating way.
