@crabpulsar03 @jamestanton @AIMathCommunity @MathPlusAcademy Here's a picture of 4x5. It can also be viewed as a picture of 4x3 + 4x2. So, it must be that 4x(3+2) and 4x3 + 4x2 are equal. This idea leads us to say that, in general, that axb + axc = a(b+c) for any three counting numbers a,b,c.
