Next, we have Katelyn Wix, who received her B.S in chemistry from Florida State where she worked with metal flux synthesis. She has now pivoted to studying antimicrobial peptide expression in plants using mass spectrometry. Welcome, Katelyn!

Welcome to our newest graduate students! First up is Jeffrey Ocampo, who received his B.S in biochemistry from CSU Dominguez Hills where he studied marine natural products. He is returning to UNC after doing an REU in 2022, and we’re so excited to see what he does next!
