Allah“ ist einfach die arabische Form von „der Gott“ (al-ilāh → Allah durch Kontraktion und Lautwandel), verwandt mit hebräisch El/Elohim und aramäisch Alaha (das Wort, das Jesus wahrscheinlich selbst benutzt hat: „Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani“ → mein Gott, mein Gott…). Arabisch sprechende Christen und Juden benutzen „Allah“ seit Jahrhunderten (vor Mohammed!) als normales Wort für den biblischen Gott – bis heute in der arabischen Bibel, in Gebeten libanesischer/syrischer/ägyptischer Christen usw.
