Just passed a friend in her driveway holding her toddler, baby in a stroller, getting cornered by a door-to-door salesman she clearly didn’t want to talk to.
I called out, “Hey, is now a good time?” walked right up, stepped between them, and started talking to her about what I needed to bring for dinner on Sunday. (We do not have dinner plans.)
He didn’t take the hint, so I turned and said, “Have a good one.” Then I walked her inside.
She was shaking. He’d been there for 20 minutes, ignoring her saying she wasn’t interested and that she needed to feed her baby.
Really glad I happened to be walking by.

I once fought the county about allowing my boarded up property to remain boarded. As it was boarded as per code, and I didn't have time to rehab.

I own 4 rentals in the same city.
All single families.
All within one mile of each other.
I never hear from the city on ANY of them, except for one. On that one, I get warnings on the smallest things:
- The grass is tall
- There’s a pallet up front (it was there for a half day)
- Bulky furniture up front (tenants were moving)
My theory is that the city inspector (or his bored mom) live nearby. What’s your take?

This woman stands right at the pharmacy counter picking up her prescription for a controlled substance.
They hand her the bottle… but she discovers they’ve shorted her 30 pills.
Instead of taking the situation seriously, the staff brushes her off and tells her to just call back Monday 😒
The pharmacist at the end breaks it down perfectly: the very first thing they should have done is a quick inventory count — a simple process that only takes about 15 minutes.
When it’s a controlled substance, you don’t shrug and delay. You stop everything, verify the count right there, document it properly, and make it right on the spot.
This kind of careless attitude is exactly why people lose trust in pharmacies… 💊

Doctor prescribed low dose opiods. Pharmacy won't fill, because insurance wants extra paperwork. If dr had prescribed different
(Hydrocodone vs oxycodone), no problem. I am in pain! I need a break!

ER → ignores bleeding risk, gives anti-inflammatories
Orthopedic surgeon → refuses pain meds
Urgent care → nothing
Her crime?
None. No history of misuse.
Her reality?
Begging for relief while her hand is swollen, black, and broken.
Told:
“No medication unless you have surgery.”
Weeks of suffering.
Depression.
Abandonment.
We didn’t fix a crisis.
We created a new one.

This happened to me, & it had initials, it was still short.
Pharmacist took one look at who "initialed" it, and added the missing tablets.

You go to Walgreens to get your prescription filled and when you get home, you notice that the bottle doesn't seem as full so you count the pills and discover you are short a few. You go back and ask them to check their cameras or do an inventory to see if they are short but they don't seem like they care.
This is the first time that has ever happened to you and you just want your missing medicine. What do you do?
I've only had that happen one time at a pharmacy I've used for over 30 years. They did a count of what they had and discovered they were off by the few I was missing and gave them to me the next day.

@toobaffled I caught one if my doctors adding things to my appointment notes. He only started doing this after I fractured 8 vertebrae as a result of a medication, and I called him on not warning me.

“In December I went to see my daughter in Florida. I acquired three mosquito bites. December 29th I began to have hip pain. The hip pain became very severe. I went to an orthopedic specialist at a teaching hospital here in South Carolina. I told the specialist about the mosquito bites. He went on to tell me he thought I the chikungunya virus. He tested my blood and indeed my white cell count was high. 3 months later I am still having hip pain. My general practitioner told me none of what he and I discussed in the office actually made it to the chart notes. I went and read the chart notes and it specifically States I denied any insect bite. I am left very confused and frankly kind of frightened that false information is on my medical charts. Nowhere on the chart does it State he suspects a virus. Truly a terrifying turn of events. I'm with puzzled as to what to attempt now because how can you trust any medical provider after blatantly being lied about and lied to..”
