I want to NOT be jaded as a developer, but the crusade against sincerity is really demoralizing. I hate reading things like “I bet you thought you were SO artsy with this“ — like, no? Have you considered that we simply did things the way we did because WE thought it’d be cool?

Most art "talent" is just 10k+ hours of ugly warmup doodles and practice sheets that nobody sees, but potentially artistic individuals would rather doompost "i'm just not creative", "oh I wish I could draw", and doomscroll instead of sitting down for 30 minutes a day and accepting their sketchbook will look and feel like a crime scene for the first two-three years (event less for those who are determined).
No one's born with talent, an affinity maybe. But that affinity does nothing if you don't train it.

People really saying “just connect to the internet not a big deal” my brother in Christ that’s not the point. God forbid a natural disaster happens or you can’t pay your WiFi bill one month and just can’t play games you PAID for until you reconnect.
It doesn’t matter if you have internet, it’s a matter of principle. You shouldn’t be okay with PS arbitrarily taking away access to games you spent your hard earned money on. The more comfortable you get with this the worse it will get.
We’re frogs in the pot and they’re slowly raising the heat and some of yall aren’t noticing.

No announcement.. No warning..
You didn't rent it.. You BOUGHT it.
→ Every new PSN purchase now has a 30-day validation timer
→ Timer hits zero = game locked
→ CMOS battery dies = game locked
→ No internet for a month = game locked
→ Even FREE demos have the timer now
Game bought March 2nd? No timer. Works forever..
Game bought April 24th? Expires May 24th..
They didn't patch a bug. They shipped this on purpose.
Digital ownership just died. They didn't even tell you.

I’ve also been experimenting with this, and I can confirm that if your CMOS battery dies, any digital game with the timer becomes unplayable again, even if the console is set as the primary. This is a digital game I purchased with money yesterday. I didn’t claim it with PS Plus.
