There is something about Yoko Shimomura's work in the late 90s that was truly out of this world. She was plugged in to every genre of music to the point you could not tell that was her until you looked at the liner notes. One song to the next was a complete reinvention

I have many of the games on their original hardware, because I grew up with them. Can't expect that from a fresh fan who maybe used the rest of their savings to buy botw and just has no funds to pay for the online service to play Oot.

You shouldn't expect someone to bleed their pockets dry just to do this hobby the way you think they should. And even if someone can afford it, it's their choice what they invest in.

I feel like sometimes there is also an inherently privileged energy about the whole "you have to play old games to be a fan" argument. The wild era games are really expensive. Unless you have the online service, which costs money too, older games are expensive to get.

Okay but like some of y'all need to calm down about what makes a Zelda fan valid. It's giving "they're not doing it the way I like it, so it's not okay!" Hot take, but playing and enjoying any Zelda game makes you a fan.

@_Pyronic Oot was my childhood game and I can be just as content with fans who got into the series with the wild era. Crazy how some treat it like a life threatening issue.

Oh yeah. More Skyward Sword updates. Honestly the second half of temples in this game is the coolest. Would've been nice to have a new boss at the end of this one, but I can't be mad about another rendez-vous with Ghirahim.
(I know my Switch screen is filthy.)

@dafiercediety I love the HW games, but the AOI is my least favorite of the three and I can see why someone who plays Zelda for the Zelda feel might not enjoy them. After all it is a vastly different kind of game.
I wish more people could just accept the diversity of these opinions peacefully.

I want to like it and want to know the whole story but I don’t really rock with those Dynasty Warrior crowd-kill games. I’ll get back to it eventually

Discarded designs for Princess Zelda from Creating a Champion.
Do you think they might revisit one of these for her next incarnation? I especially love the red and white dress, and also the blue one with white roses.

I love everything about Majora's Mask. The lore, the music, the characters... Except for actually playing it.
I want to replay it in the near future, but I just find it very stressful to play sometimes because of the time system.
Still I think it's a great game.
