✍️ Bishop Auckland FC is delighted to announce the arrival of ex Sunderland FC u23 player Patrick ‘Paddy’ Almond. Defender, Paddy, 22, joined Sunderland at the age of 11 and was a regular starter in the Under-23 team during the 2020-21 season. He signed his first Professional Contract in the summer of 2021 and after impressing in the u23’s he was an unused first-team substitute for two EFL Trophy games. He gained his senior professional debut in the same competition on 13 October 2021, in a 2–1 win over Manchester United u23’s. Paddy left Sunderland for a loan spell to Blyth Spartans. Following a return to the game after a serious illness, Paddy then had spells with Shildon, Darlington, Whitley Bay and Ashington, before rejoining Blyth in January of this year. Manager, Carling said “It goes without saying, Paddy has a wealth of experience and will be a valuable asset to the team. I am looking forward in working with Paddy, he has a certain presence about his game and I am excited to see that in action.” Welcome to the ‘Bishops’ Paddy.💙 Anyone wishing to sponsor Paddy should contact chairman, Steve Coulthard on 07968 426817.
