May for me is all about the absolute soul-lifting loveliness of planting out plants grown from seed - this is tagetes burning ember, to accompany the tomato plants on the allotment, and honesty sown and planted last year to flower now 💚 #GardensHour

@KeepingThePlot Not really as it was word of mouth and helped meeting like minded people on my course so we could work together or pass on work. Might be worth speaking to fellow gardeners locally as they’re always so busy with work!

Thank you all for sharing your marvellous May images, and hopes for things to come this month. See you all, same time, next week! #GardensHour

@SophieKBoxall Did you find it difficult to get work as a newbie?
English

@SophieKBoxall Thanks - I would love to make the switch after my current role is done (I’m working on a project, my role will be done by 2025….), seeing that you’ve done it makes me think it might just be possible!
English

@SophiFrost Thanks! Me too, I love them and really need to stop adding more! 😂😍

@KeepingThePlot Love your maple trees.

Spent most of the bank holiday weekend in the garden and on the allotment - it was so lovely to be outside all day every day! 💚 #gardening #GardensHour

@marktheman2010 Yes, very much so - I tend to use the collars for plants I’ve just planted out to give them a fighting chance during the first couple of weeks when they don’t grow much and can otherwise just disappear overnight
English

@KeepingThePlot I think one has to weigh up the cost of ruined plants.

#GardeningTwitter #GardensHour Has anyone had any positive results with slug collars? I was wondering if I can use them around Dahlias as well as brassicas? Slugs are my worst enemy.

@SophieKBoxall @GardensHour @ThisisDavina Hello Sophie :) Please can I ask, how did you make the switch to gardening as a profession?
English

@GardensHour Thank you - I was juggling #GardensHour and watching @ThisisDavina #DavinaMenopause. It was literally #gardening that saved my sanity (along with the kindest husband) so rather fitting. I’m one of the 1/10 who left their job and love my new found career as a gardener 💚
English

@KeepingThePlot If as you say copper collars last for years I think it's a worthwhile investment.
