no need for him to be like that. If he'd actually been cool and told you the truth, you might have even booked him to fix it! And told your friends about him. Silly, short-term, scarcity thinking. And now he's lost a customer, and potentially more. Lucky you were savvy enough to spot it though

@KeepyCash We got three opinions. It was cracked and needed to be replaced, but wasn’t the emergency the dude said it was. Total scare tactic

HVAC Guy: I’m here for the $50 HVAC tune up Me: Sure, furnace is in the basement * 10 minutes later * HVAC Guy: Bad news. Something is rusted and cracked inside. That means CO2 is leaking into the house. I have to condemn your furnace, put a tag on it, and turn it off Me: You will do none of those things. HVAC Guy: I have to by code… Me: You will not touch my furnace, let me show you the door 🚪

@thecjsw Awesome message my man! And if people struggle with this, and many do, just get some help and support. Certain therapies are great for this

🎤 @MartinSLewis ( @MoneySavingExpert ) What would good look like, do you think, in terms of financial education for young people? 💬"Every child, when they are leaving school, who is capable of understanding it, knows the building blocks of finance, can speak the language because money is a different language, you know, and it is a foreign language to many people.... I don't want people to have messed up their finances when they're 30 because they weren't taught enough when they were 18." #MyMoneyWeek: young-enterprise.org.uk/what-we-do/pro…

@MartinSLewis even if our rates did drop, they probably won't be as low as they were... or they will creep back up in no time. I have zero faith that world politics wants to actually look after us "normies"

@ibuycompounders Ha! I've never thought of it like that. Great spot In the UK we say, "I need to Hoover", not "I need to vacuum". Hoover was a brand that got big in that space

I think one of these easiest ways to outperform is to buy companies whose names are used as verbs Examples: “Google it” not look it up online “Want DoorDash tonight?” not wanna order food and have it delivered “Should we Uber?” not should we take a taxi This list goes on and on. Companies like that become synonymous with an activity in a consumers mind and they won’t even look for alternatives. A consumer may try and find the best possible deal on travel, but for convenience plays they’ll go with what their brain already knows. $UBER $DASH $GOOGL What are some other companies I missed?

@TheICHpodcast Guarantee is a strong word. Surely someone started a business just to make money... then made it. I do agree with the sentiment, though

Here’s the harsh truth about real estate: I own four single family homes. They’ve made me a millionaire. But homes are homes, they need love and care. That means money. Between turnovers, capital expenses (roof, deck, retaining wall), and a costly eviction, my reserves have dwindled from over $100K to about $40K in about 12 months. And I still have one vacancy to fill. Thankfully, we have reserves. And thankfully, we have plenty of equity to tap into if liquidity gets tighter. But this business is not for the faint of heart!

Dad’s getting financial/life advice from non-dads is dumb. Your lives do NOT align. Your priorities do NOT align. Your responsibilities do NOT align. So next time your mate is trying to convince you to go out clubbing, lose at least £100 while doing so, wrecking your weekend with your family because you feel like a bag of crap… … just tell them no. Then, go and spend that same £100 on an amazing day out with your family and make some memories. Because when you’re on your deathbed, you’ll never regret not getting p*ssed more. But you almost certainly will regret not spending more time with your kids while they were young.

Dads, if you’re feeling like you’re carrying a ten-tonne weight around your neck right now, caused by stress about money… You’re not alone. And you don’t need to keep carrying it. Firstly, you can open up about these things. It’s not weak, it’s strong. Because it takes courage. Secondly, a simple plan to start clearing debt can make a big difference. I was once in £29k of non-mortgage debt, and on a low income. It took a few years, but we chipped away at it until we saw that magical £0 owed. It’s just done one little step at a time. Small decisions add up and momentum builds. I was raised on a council estate in the UK where all I knew about money was earn it - spend it. Then spend extra for a laugh. If I can break the cycle, so can you. You got this 👊

Bit of an honest one... I've lost my mojo a little recently. Could be the markets, could be splitting time between X and Instagram, could be seeing the same content everywhere, or maybe it's just a down day. Then again, perhaps I'd feel better if I had some SpaceX in the portfolio 🚀😅 Sure it'll pass, but thought I'd be honest Anyone else feeling a bit "meh" lately?
