Today, we celebrate the incredible women of LRADAC and the women in our community who show strength, resilience, and courage every day. We’re proud to support women through prevention, treatment, and recovery services that help them heal, grow, and build healthier futures.

This morning, Major Matt Davis with officers, attended the Black Balloon Day event at @LRADACSC. There was a moment of silence for the 185 individuals who died by overdose in Lexington/Richland counties in 2025.

Today is National Black Balloon Day -- an annual tradition to honor & remember lives lost to substance abuse. According to statistics from partner agency, @LRADACSC, 110 people lost their lives in Richland County from overdoses last year. Here at #ColumbiaPDSC, officers have saved multiple lives by administering Narcan during emergency calls for service. For substance abuse help in Columbia you can call @LRADACSC 803-726-9390.
