You spent days debating whether the American rescue operation succeeded or failed. You analyzed every satellite image of the burned-out C-130s at that airstrip near Isfahan. You celebrated the downed F-15. You shared every IRGC claim.
But here's the question you never asked:
Would anyone do the same for me?
An American Colonel was injured, alone, hiding in a mountain crevice in the Zagros at 7,000 feet, deep inside Iranian territory, being hunted by IRGC forces and armed local tribesmen. And what did America do?
It sent hundreds of soldiers. Delta Force. SEAL Team Six. The CIA ran a deception campaign across Iran to buy him time. Over 150 aircraft filled the sky. They bombed roads to stop convoys from reaching him. They blew up their own planes rather than leave equipment behind. The President sat in the Situation Room for two days straight. The entire national security apparatus of the most powerful country on earth focused on bringing one man home.
One. Man.
Now ask yourself: if you were that man bleeding in a ditch in southern Lebanon, captured in some corner of Syria, or left behind in Yemen. Would Tehran send anyone? Would the Supreme Leader sit in any room monitoring your rescue? Would the IRGC send 150 aircraft for you?
You already know the answer. You've always known.
When Soleimani was killed, they printed posters. When hundreds of IRGC "advisors" died in Syria, their names barely made the news. When Hezbollah foot soldiers are buried, their families get a modest payment and a reminder to be grateful. When the Islamic Republic called on civilians to hunt down the American airman, they were asking ordinary people to risk their lives while regime officials watched from the safety of Tehran.
The Americans didn't debate whether to rescue their Colonel. They debated how many hundreds of millions to spend doing it. Your leadership doesn't debate how to save you. They debate how to spend you most efficiently.
You are not a citizen to them. You are inventory. A budget line. A face on a martyrdom poster they'll print for $2 and forget about the next week.
The next time you celebrate the "failure" of America or Israel, ask yourself the only question that actually matters:
"If something happens to me tomorrow, who comes looking?"
