@tanvi_madan It seems Delhi has yet to adjust to the reality of the new administration and was expecting to be treated differently. But looking at EU, UK, Japan, etc., this is the US foreign policy new playbook, and unlikely to change anytime soon.

There are a lot of recommendations floating around. Problem is they require Trump not to be Trump and India not to be India.
The downward spiral continues for now...

I'll have a piece out in next few days on 🇺🇸🇮🇳 -- rels hv not been destroyed but also not just a temporary hiccup. One of the most challenging (& potentially consequential) moments since 1998. (1 thing this moment isn't: surprising. many of the headwinds were predictable.)
