Did I get scammed or cheated? I’ll let you be the judge… 😤 Last year, I bought 4,799,139 pieces of a token called $SPT @CBSafePoint which was worth over $200 at the time of purchase and That’s about 0.48% of the total supply. I heard a rumor that the founder was affiliated to @smcdao . I didn’t check properly… my bad. I blindly invested because I’m a member of the community and I love supporting anything SMC related. The token kept tanking. I watched my holdings bleed value. Then came a light of hope the dev announced a relaunch and asked us to resend tokens. Normally, relaunches do automatic migrations, but here we were, manually sending our tokens. I did mine back in December last year. Weeks passed. Postponements after postponements. Until last week, the relaunch finally went live. My brother @top_gamertechs and I were hype! Then came the moment of truth: what about our tokens? They said distribution would happen 3 days later. I understood they were trying to control sell pressure. But then after 3 days which happened to be on Saturday I received 10% of my tokens. 10%. That’s 479,913 SPT out of 4.7M. I asked the dev why he I got that allocation when it’s still the same tokenomics they used . His reply: “It was done via 1 ratio 10 The day we made the announcement of the relaunch, the mc was around 4k” Wait… WHAT? No public announcement, no warning, nothing. Checked their socials. Asked my brother to confirm. The dev said it was mentioned on a Telegram call. A call that all your holders were not present I was boiling but stayed cool. Reached out to friends and colleagues. The dev that was replying us suddenly ignored all DMs mine, my brother’s, everyone. Thankfully, my friend (who helped develop the token relaunch) explained the situation. But here’s the kicker, the founder made huge mistake and now previous holders are paying for his losses without any communication. He sent me peanuts 🥜 and ignored us. Mind you, there were 800+ previous holders. This is exactly why people stereotype Nigerian builders as greedy, self-centered, and unaccountable. This dev lacks credibility and can’t communicate. I even escalated to my seniors still adamant. And now… be the judge. Learn from my mistakes: ✅ Don’t blindly buy a project without researching the token AND the founder integrity . Nothing hurts more than being outsmarted by someone who lacks accountability with high audacity. Oh, and just before I posted this… the dev finally sent an apology. After ignoring me since Saturday.
