@Gundrylab JBC is still pretty glamorous in my field (glycobiology) lots of excellent peers on the editorial board and a very robust review process. Just doesn’t have the IF to match any more....

@eichhornlab It makes the world of difference though when someone understands and helps. I remember another Mum silently righting the pushchair and picking up dropped bags when Ru had a sensory meltdown in the street. I try to do the same for others whenever I can.

Love this! This was a few years ago for me now. My students are kind enough to invite me back in every now and again to look at stuff but they have to snigger quietly when it’s clear I’ve forgotten how to use the microscope.@StemCellGlyco
