How does temperature affect the density of water? Today the Hurricanes observed how cold water stacks up against warm water when placed on top of each other in a jar @CanonMacMS

The Hurricanes just wrapped up a unit on Potential and Kinetic Energy. During the chapter, students built custom roller coasters and designed a toy that featured a conversion from potential to kinetic energy. @CanonMacMS

Before starting “A Long Walk to Water” in English, students modeled how water moves into the ground in aquifers and how wells tap into this for people to use. They also did a water scarcity lab in English today before starting the book next week. @CanonMacMS

The Hurricanes investigated how igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks move through the rock cycle today in lab. @CanonMacMS

Using materials provided, the Hurricanes designed a toy to teach the concept of potential energy to elementary students. Students tested a prototype then redesigned as needed to meet the criteria set. @CanonMacMS

Marble Run Lab in Science. Students had to keep the marble moving and on the board as long as possible. @CanonMacMS

We mourn the passing of astronaut Bill Anders, lunar module pilot for Apollo 8, and backup pilot for the Gemini XI and Apollo 11 flights.
