I hope I’m wrong on all 3 counts

3 The Switch felt like a toy that played hardcore games. The Switch 2 feels like a hardcore console that plays toy-like games. I fear it’s easier for Nintendo to have cheaper consoles that target adults rather than have more expensive consoles that target kids

So now that we have games, I have 3 irrational fears:

Someone asked me to test the Spigen Switch 2 gear. They are so ill fitted I would stay clear. Not sure if they didn’t know about the magnet release or worse they require double sided tape. Anything else I should test?

I always found these annoying because you can’t close your hand around the sides.

@Sinokei_ Hate to break it to you but the dock doesn’t do upscaling and doesn’t independently need the fan. The console goes from like a 1.5-8W draw handheld mode to something’s that’s like 4-5x that docked. The console is what gets hot with 4K60. There are many 4k docks w/out fans.

@giosTabasco They couldn’t fit their case in the dock so they made an add-on stand to park it outside - completely missing the fan that’s needed to push the 4K60…

@SnazzyLabs I’ve been told LCD technology has gotten much better since the Switch and that OLED displays causes headaches (PWM) for a small percentage of users especially in Asia. At least that was the justifications I was told - though it’s probably just to bring down the cost…

I’d rather have a 720p OLED on the Switch 2 over a 1080p LCD.
