Mitt Romney got destroyed when he explained 47% of Americans don’t work, contribute and pay into the system. He acknowledged the challenge of winning with a facially responsible message when half the country is getting free stuff they don’t want to give up. That was in 2012. The problem has only gotten worse.

Spain is cooked. A Mexican woman broke down in tears after going self-employed in Spain. She barely invoices anything, yet the government still slams her with €1,500–1,700 extra every single quarter just for VAT and social contributions. Add the monthly autónomo fee on top of that, and it’s now literally cheaper for her to shut everything down and quit. “Spain is not for entrepreneurs.” Bureaucratic extortion at its finest. The boy he’s talking about (he cites a specific sign the boy had) is not dead. The claim started with the “Middle East Observer” account, which later corrected its report to say he’s “alive and well.” But there are plenty of dead children in Nigeria he can carry pictures of.

Pfffft. Imagine missing an admissions test cutoff to NYC schools that have test only admissions by 1 point, only to find out that those who missed it by 20% received offers instead. This is classic socialism, where outcomes are forced to be equal via redistribution.

NEW LAWSUIT: Asian-American mom suing Mayor Mamdani and Chancellor Samuels on the expansion of the Discovery program to NYC’s Specialized High Schools. Former mayor DeBlasio expanded the Discovery program (used to admit low inc students who missed the SHSAT cutoff) from 5% to 20%, with the goal of admitting more Black and Hispanic students. The significant increase in set asides for Discovery reduced the seats for standard admits, pushing up the scores needed for all Specialized High Schools. There is no more merit admissions at the K-8 level in NYC public schools. And even at the Specialized High Schools, asian students are discriminated because of their race. Bravo Wai Wah and @CACAGNY for fighting this injustice 👏 "Yi Fang Chen’s son certainly had the grades to get into New York City’s prestigious Stuyvesant High School. Just one problem: He’s the wrong race. Chen’s son was the victim of the city’s Discovery Program, which was meant to be a limited, optional back door into the city’s specialized high schools for disadvantaged students who failed to meet the test cut-off."
