No last-mile connectivity. Sky-high fares. Zero accountability. BBC asked “where are the commuters?” we know the answer. They’re still on rickshaws and buses because no one thought beyond the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The money was real. The planning was not.

Polling day-2 onward : From 06:00 AM to 06:00 PM no pillion riding on Motor Cycles shall be allowed except in case of medical emergency, family function or other essential requirements like dropping/picking of school children etc. 4. Polling day: Family pillion riding on MotorCycles shall be allowed from 06:00 AM to 06:00 PM for voting purpose and for other essential requirements like medical emergency, family function etc. Note: In case anybody needs exemption from the above restrictions, written permission from the local police station may be taken.

This is a devastating blow to the Brahmaputras ecosystem. Finding a full grown Gangetic River dolphin, one of the largest in decades; dead from suspected poaching is absolutely gut wrenching. The Dakhala-Guimara-Futuri stretch is supposed to be a safe haven, but instead, its becoming a graveyard for oil extraction.
