NEW: Walt Disney World shared new and updated aerial video of EPCOT.

The Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort originally debuted in 1975 as part of the unfulfilled Lake Buena Vista mixed-use community. They’re octagonal structures on stilts, designed for flood-prone wetlands with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking canals and golf courses. The 60 villas were constructed onsite like giant 3D puzzles, supported by 480 concrete columns. After closing to guests in 2002, the villas were residences for International College Program Cast Members and storage space during the Disney Institute era. Federal wetlands restrictions prevented Disney from tearing down the treehouses or larger redevelopment, so the company chose to retain the original platforms during their remodel in 2009.

Source ? Cristalline ? Disney n'a jamais officiellement affirmé ce que vous dites concernant le plan de 2 milliards de 2018. La seule nuance apportée est que le parc Walt Disney Studios n'est pas LE SEUL projet faisant partie de ce plan et cette nuance a été apportée après 2018, il y a seulement deux ou trois ans. Ce que vous citez ne découle que de "on dit".' et non de déclarations officielles. Toutes les transformations en cours ont coûté bien plus que 2 milliards par ailleurs. Il y a autant de chances que cette somme ait financé le 30e anniversaire que le parking des Parcs mais comme Disney n'a jamais communiqué sur ça, cela ne sert à rien d'inventer. 😌 Concernant WDW, cela n'apparaissait pas dans les logos commerciaux mais dans les mentions officielles en petit sur les brochures d'époque, les plans, les documents administratifs etc. ☺️

En Floride, Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom ou Disney's Magic Kingdom a été simplifié en The Magic Kingdom avant de perdre son déterminant. EPCOT Center est devenu successivement Epcot '94, Epcot '95 et enfin EPCOT ; les Disney-MGM Studios ont été rebaptisés Disney's Hollywood Studios ; Euro Disneyland a été renommé Disneyland Paris puis Parc Disneyland. Mais le cas du second parc parisien se distingue par plusieurs aspects : • C’est la première fois qu’un parc entier Disney passe d’un nom thématiquement très marqué (« Studios », centré sur le cinéma et la production) à un nom complètement différent et plus général (« Adventure World »), axé sur l’immersion dans des mondes d’aventures (Disney, Pixar, Marvel, La Reine des Neiges, etc.). • Le changement s’accompagne d’une transformation physique massive : doublement de la superficie du parc, plus de 90 % des éléments d’origine (depuis 2002) repensés ou remplacés ; ajoutez à cela l'extension avec World of Frozen, Adventure Way, Raiponce Tangled Soin et la préparation pour une zone Le Roi Lion. • Cette mutation est budgétée officiellement à 2 milliards d'euros.

Hot Take: Guardians Of The Galaxy Cosmic Rewind should be rethemed into an actual EPCOT ride. Something like the Big Bang, or a modern day version of adventure thru inner space. I understand it’s beloved but let’s be honest, it’s not because of Guardians.

The Walt Disney World Monorail System is being updated this week to feature logos that glow in the dark. The update builds on LED enhancements added during the resort’s 50th anniversary when all 12 trains were outfitted with lights that illuminate the beam beneath each train.

Bottom line It’s hard watching an institution you’ve loved almost your whole life destroy such a cherished, poignant, symbolic part of the world’s most famous theme park. A part of the park so many of us hold close to our hearts. A park created by a beloved creative genius. Magic 💔 Kingdom Rationally, I know it’s ‘just’ a theme park. It’s just a stretch of water, with a steamboat. Worse things happen everyday in the world. And we should be grateful they don’t happen to us. But, an attachment is an attachment. There will never be a future visit when I see Cars Land but wish for and remember what sailed before 💙
