Public Speaking Tip: to naturally slow down your rate, focus on enunciating every word, especially final consonants, as they should be pronounced. In order to enunciate, you must speak slower. Your audience will thank you!

The average Team Leader is stuck between a rock and a hard place: responsible for team performance but with no authority. If you have Team Leaders working for you, please fix this problem: there is no responsibility without authority.

The first step in authentic conversation is to acknowledge what the other person just said before making your response. Acknowledgement is not the same as agreement. When you acknowledge receipt of their message, you remove their resistance to your message.

2/2 leaders need to push back on the daily inertia to continue forward and do the work to make the change. (2) Any kind of change effort must show tangible results for the effort expended. If not, doubt grows about leadership's commitment and the ability to win.

The habit of daily work, an effort towards an outcome, especially if it is an expression of who you are, is a liberating experience...especially when you find that "flow" state. Good insight to do something every day, even if it isn't on the "critical path."

Err on the side of trust.

Approaching and solving a problem with logic is a solid approach; but winning others over requires more than logic. While we can tone down our emotions, we never escape them., and they must be considered when convincing others. This means leadership is an emotional engagement.
