The problem with cricket and its future is that almost 90% of its global revenue comes from Indians watching the sport. If Indians completely stopped watching cricket, many foreign players would have to take up full-time jobs just to support their cricket careers. That shows how dependent global cricket is on one market. Comparing cricket’s global popularity with football is simply ludicrous.

It's kind of sad to see that countries whose names I've never even heard of are playing in the FIFA World Cup but my country, India isn't there. I hope that one day India will play in the FIFA World Cup and we'll all be cheering and shouting, 'India! India!' when they play 🇮🇳
