Erling Haaland just scored another hat-trick and at this point, it’s no longer exciting, it’s expected. That’s what happens when a system is built to feed one man relentlessly. The runs are predictable. The passes are inevitable. The outcome? Almost guaranteed. You can see the goal coming before it even happens. Now pause and look at Nigerian politics. Isn’t it starting to feel the same? The same names. The same structures. The same outcomes. Elections come and go, but the “goalscorers” remain unchanged. The political machinery keeps creating chances for the same set of players, while everyone else is left chasing shadows on the pitch. And just like in football, when one system becomes too predictable, it stops being competitive. It becomes… scripted. That’s the danger. Because while Haaland’s hat-tricks are celebrated, in politics, predictability is not excellence, it’s stagnation. It means the system isn’t producing new talent, new ideas, or new direction. It’s just recycling dominance. So yes, applaud the brilliance. But also ask yourself: Are we watching a fair game… or just a well-rehearsed routine where the result was never really in doubt?

One would think a man that close to power would at least respect its limits. Because real power is never permanent. It shifts. It rotates. It humbles. And yet, listening to Pete Hegseth, you’d think he’s speaking not as a commentator, but as a military head pledging loyalty to a throne… not a constitution. The tone, the posture, the certainty, it all sounds less like analysis and more like allegiance. To a man who has, at most, less than three years left in office: Donald Trump. That’s the part that should worry anyone paying attention. Because history is very clear about this: the tools you justify today don’t disappear tomorrow. They change hands. They get reused. And often, they get used in ways you didn’t anticipate. Every standard you lower becomes the new normal. Every excess you defend becomes precedent. Every line you blur becomes easier for the next person to erase completely. That’s how systems decay quietly, incrementally, with people who think they’re serving power, when in reality, they’re just temporarily orbiting it. Maybe it’s fear. Fear of being cast aside. Fear of losing proximity. Fear of ending up like those who fell out of favor, like Pam Bondi or the ever-rotating leadership at the Department of Homeland Security, where loyalty is often rewarded… until it isn’t. So the question isn’t whether he understands history. It’s whether he’s choosing to ignore it… or simply hoping he won’t be around long enough to face its consequences.

Back in secondary school, I had a neighbour whose mum warned him not to be friends with me. Her reasons? He got into uni before me, and his family was more financially stable, so she assumed I’d be a bad influence. As boys nau, we still remained friends… just that his mum must never know. He didn’t even know I was aware, but I played along. Fast forward to recent times, he’d casually mention that his mum now asks about me. Coincidentally, she came visiting yesterday while we were on a call and asked to speak with me. Her first words: “My son, you don’t even ask of me.” I just smiled. To be fair, back in the days, many parents did this, my mom included; make I no lie 🫢

One of the biggest mistakes people make is assuming Iran is fighting this war to win in the conventional sense. They’re not. Iran has spent decades preparing for something very different, a long, grinding conflict where survival itself is victory. Their entire military doctrine is built around endurance, not dominance. While the U.S. plans for decisive, fast wars, Iran plans for wars that drag on until the opponent loses the will to continue. At the core of this is their decentralized military structure. Iran doesn’t rely on a single chain of command that can be wiped out in one strike. Through what’s known as a “mosaic defense,” power is spread across multiple independent units that can operate even if leadership is taken out. In simple terms, you can hit the head, but the body keeps moving. That’s why even after heavy bombardment and targeted assassinations, their operations haven’t collapsed. Then there’s their asymmetric strategy. Iran knows it cannot match the U.S. or its allies in conventional warfare, so it flipped the game entirely. Instead of competing plane-for-plane or ship-for-ship, they invest in missiles, drones, proxy groups, and regional pressure points. Cheap weapons forcing expensive defenses. Small actions creating global consequences like the closing of the strait of Hormuz. It’s not about overpowering the enemy it’s about making the war too costly to sustain. Another key factor is psychological and ideological conditioning. The system isn’t just military, it’s ideological. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was built not just to defend territory, but to protect the regime itself. That means loyalty, sacrifice, and survival are deeply ingrained. Even leadership losses don’t necessarily weaken them, in some cases, it hardens internal unity and reinforces their narrative of resistance. So the US and Israel can boast of killing all their leaders, but that doesn’t really weaken Iran in any way. And finally, Iran has spent years preparing for this exact scenario despite the heavy sanctions imposed on them by the US. They studied past wars, especially how quickly centralized regimes collapsed, and built a system designed not to break under pressure. So what we’re seeing now isn’t improvisation, it’s execution. A country built to absorb shock, adapt, and outlast. However, only time will tell who comes out on top and Iran doesn’t look to be slowing.

THIS COULD BE THE DEFINING MOMENT OF THE IRAN WAR. 🧵 Let’s break down what just happened and why it matters far beyond the battlefield. Iran claims it has shot down a US fighter jet over its territory and may have captured the pilot(s). The US has not confirmed this, but reports suggest a failed rescue attempt and potential losses during extraction. If true, this changes everything. Because the moment American personnel are captured on enemy soil, the war is no longer just about strategy, it becomes about retrieval, reputation, and domestic pressure. Now here’s the real issue for Trump: You cannot campaign on “ending the war” while American pilots are potentially sitting in Iranian custody. Walking away is no longer an option. That will mean political sucide for Trump and it’s against everything America stands for. Leaving them behind isn’t even on the table. Trying to negotiate makes you look weak. Escalating militarily risks dragging the US deeper into conflict. Every option carries a cost. This is how wars expand, not by plan, but by obligation. And history is clear. The Iran hostage crisis didn’t just dominate headlines, it crippled Jimmy Carter’s presidency for over a year. A captured American is not just a soldier, it’s a huge leverage and Iran knows this. A $60,000 bounty has already been placed on the heads of the missing American soldiers. If Iran truly has a pilot and chooses to reveal it publicly, the pressure on Washington will be immediate and relentless. Media cycles, public opinion, political opponents and everything shifts overnight. Honestly I don’t know how Trump spins this, although, he’s the best in that regard. At that point, this stops being a conflict you can end quickly, it becomes one you are forced to stay in until you bring your people home. And that’s the trap.

What happened in Jos is heartbreaking, and the families affected deserve more than distant words. But standing at the airport and addressing grieving people from a safe distance? That’s not leadership, that’s optics. In moments like this, presence matters. Empathy isn’t delivered from behind tight security and a quick exit strategy. This is the pattern Nigerians are tired of. When tragedy strikes, leaders are expected to stand with the people, not observe from afar. It sends a message, whether intentional or not, that the pain on the ground is something to be managed, not truly felt. And let’s be honest, with 2027 on the horizon, every move now is political. It’s hard to see this as genuine compassion when it feels like another calculated appearance. Nigerians deserve leaders who show up because it’s right, not because elections are near.

If I’m getting this gist correctly, did @abazwhyllzz really try to rip this guy off because he accused him of stealing a tweet? Since he's trying to feign integrity, maybe it's time I called him out for his theft of my tweet which got him lots of engagement. Gbewiri influencer.

I’m sorry for the misconception @_Abdulakeem_ I’m to give him 15 jerseys to share as directed by @victorosimhen9 but he should please give the original poster of the post he copied @jextoracle 1 jersey and share the remaining 14 for whoever he chooses. I’m sorry for the misunderstanding and miscommunication. I admit my mistake🙏🏾

I don’t like doing this, but I’ve always heard about big accounts gatekeeping, and today, I experienced it firsthand. Earlier today, I shoot my shot at @victorosimhen9 by tagging him purely out of admiration for how he represents the Nigerian flag. I asked him for a Galatasaray jersey and pitched @abazwhyllzz as the vendor, as one of the big and reputable accounts selling jerseys here ❤️ He responded and promised me a signed Champions League jersey 🙏🔥. He also said he will get 15 additional jerseys from Abazz for me to share. Now here’s where things got interesting. I reached out to Abazz via DM and, to my surprise, he said he had already selected winners on his page, which was obviously not true. I asked why he would do that when he was meant to be the vendor. I then messaged @Thetifefab, who told me to discuss with Abazz and he handled the payment for the jerseys (Abazz confirmed receiving payment for the 15 jerseys). Upon receiving the money for the jerseys, Abazz asked that we move the conversation to WhatsApp, and I assumed it was to discuss delivery. Instead, Abazz called me and kept on insisting he will be the one to share the jerseys, which I didn’t agree to. After further discussion, he proposed a split, he takes 8, I take 7. I declined and ended the call. He kept calling, but I insisted we continue via chat instead. I reiterated that I was the one who tagged Osimhen, he responded to my tweet, and Abazz only came into the picture because I tagged him as the vendor, and he has already been paid for the jerseys. Attached to this tweet is evidence of our conversations via X DMs and WhatsApp. I’m not here to cause drama, just asking for transparency and fairness, not only for myself but for everyone who participated in good faith 💯 Let’s do right by the people who showed up for this 🙌🔥
