Spurs chairman Peter J. Holt, CEO RC Buford, GM Brian Wright and coach Mitch Johnson traveled to Paris to meet and spend time with Victor Wembanyama and his family and reps Friday. Wembanyama was essentially a lock to earn a $303M supermax if he played 65 games next season -- but he opted for a significant sacrifice at a flash point for the Spurs' rise.
In the Spurs championship past, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker had a history of taking less for the betterment of team-building.

The altercation occurred at a practice court in a Las Vegas hotel this morning, sources said -- starting when Adebayo approached Herro about comments the guard made critiquing the center on social media after their seven-year run in Miami ended.

Kuminga would have to make less than that to make the math work from LA’s side. Lakers are sending out roughly $25M in salary and taking back roughly $39M (depending on Kuminga’s first-year salary).
Couple more things:
1) They’re currently about $11M under first apron, where they are hard-cap. So can’t add more than $11M in salary as things stand (unless they do a separate salary-drumming move first).
2) They’re restricted to take back only $9.1M more than the $25M outgoing salary (based on salary-matching rules under the apron). So this could work if Kuminga was in the $10-11 million range, but LA would basically be at the first apron and still need two more players (they’d be at 12 and league minimum is 14).

I’m not sure about this random Kuminga chase that Pelinka is doing.
You need a 3 and d guy in that 3 spot, not another rim runner who can’t shoot. Kuminga is going to demand a lot of touches like Ayton had for a player who’s not worth the output.
He shot 20% from 3 in the playoffs also. I don’t see it, but maybe someone else does.
