@wendythedentist @CDifficile1 The comment about oral Micro biome stability was related to a healthy micro biome. We would only use ABs in specific patient groups where we have a significant and no resolving dysbiosis. This is why specialists should ideally be making that decision.

Read the other responses, almost everyone mentioned smoothing and you decided to bark at me compared to everyone else, why? We both know the answer to that. You didn’t defend her earnestly, you just wanted to feel big by singling me out. My comments were hardly condescending and only intended to explain the rationale behind smoothing for a general teaching lesson because guess what? This isn’t a real crown prep for gold… it’s a training exercise. It’s not a real tooth, and a gold crown won’t be fabricated. Just because she brought up the need for smoothing doesn’t mean it’s not worth repeating alongside an explanation of *why* we do it besides “make prep look pretty”. You just wanted to be technically correct and insufferable in response to my well-intentioned feedback.

Without getting into prep design too much there is one thing you’ll want to consider for any type of indirect restoration: Sharp angles on the prep will lead to crack propagation of ceramic. Always take a smooth finishing bur and clean up anything sharp. You can run your finger over the prep to feel for any sharp areas and smooth them down.
