I am concerned about our city's current priorities. It is frustrating to see that bus service in Tucson and surrounding areas is free for all riders, including non-residents, while homeless individuals are permitted to camp in our public parks and receive various free services—all funded by local taxpayers. At the same time, the Mayor and City Council are now proposing to charge residents for using public pickleball courts. This feels like a misalignment of resources and priorities. I hope our city government will reconsider these proposals and focus on more balanced, equitable solutions that respect taxpayers and maintain access to public amenities. With the 2027 election approaching, I encourage thoughtful candidates to step forward for Mayor and Wards 1, 2, and 4.
