Yes it absolutely does. To deny it is simply wrong. When you give the roles to voice actors who are represented by said characters they will give better performances because that’s who they represent. Of course there are exceptions that have worked but to deny this is just wrong.

A character’s race/ethnicity/etc should not have any influence on the voice actor who portrays them. Certain “actors” have killed this idea over the last few years causing others to step away from their roles cause they were afraid of offending the crowd. This shouldn’t be an issue…
