Men underestimated women’s emotional distress after intimate-partner sexual assault, while women overestimated men’s distress & perceived risk; men, however, were relatively accurate about women’s fear & perceived risk. Interview w/ @RandomMutations psypost.org/men-and-women-…

Out now and open access for four weeks as the editor's choice Topic in Focus in American Psychologist. Contrary to popular belief, evolutionary psychology hypotheses are testable and falsifiable.

@RandomMutations I often worry that colleage is a rip-off and false hope. This is such a valuable part of university education that is often missing: sharing knowledge about practicalities of future job markets and opportunities & then realistically prepping students for success. Well done!!! 🙌

This semester, I designed a capstone course to set undergraduate students up for success with (a) applying for graduate school during the current cycle or (b) transitioning into the workforce. In Week 1, I had students set goals and report their hopes for the course.

They leave the course with peer reviewed application materials for a job of their choice or a graduate program. Let me tell you: These young professionals are impressive folks! This was a new course for our department, & I'm so thankful I was included in its development.

Many stated they were nervous about the mock interview day I planned in collaboration with @indianastate 's career center. Upon reflection, they appreciated the challenge and stated significant confidence gained in advocating for themselves in their career of interest.

Feel like helping students in my research methods course? Consider taking part in some of their surveys! A survey about personal college career experience and choosing a major for current students. Takes about 5 minutes: indstate.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_do…

I love teaching psychology so much. I was so passionate about teaching the basics of regression and statistical prediction and its relation to predicting personality test scores today in class my students were looking at me like I was tripping. lol

AI “friends” - comfort with a cost Spoke w @nationaljournal about why chatbots pals can feel good—but quietly erode our ability to handle real friendships If friends never ask stuff of you, you don’t learn to navigate real bonds Bots don't replace the hard, human parts of love
