@RandomMutations I often worry that colleage is a rip-off and false hope. This is such a valuable part of university education that is often missing: sharing knowledge about practicalities of future job markets and opportunities & then realistically prepping students for success. Well done!!! 🙌

This semester, I designed a capstone course to set undergraduate students up for success with (a) applying for graduate school during the current cycle or (b) transitioning into the workforce. In Week 1, I had students set goals and report their hopes for the course.

They leave the course with peer reviewed application materials for a job of their choice or a graduate program. Let me tell you: These young professionals are impressive folks! This was a new course for our department, & I'm so thankful I was included in its development.

Many stated they were nervous about the mock interview day I planned in collaboration with @indianastate 's career center. Upon reflection, they appreciated the challenge and stated significant confidence gained in advocating for themselves in their career of interest.
