One officer started to administer back slaps and the other began the finger sweep technique. Together they were able to dislodge the candy from the baby’s throat allowing the baby to resume normal breathing. Rescue arrived and administered additional treatment on scene.

The officers were first on scene and found the 1 mo. old choking on a jelly bean, turning blue and foaming at the mouth.

Outstanding work!! 6th Pct Patrol Officers, yesterday at 2:33PM, Unit 617, a double car, was dispatched to Jefferson Ct, Coram for a 1 mo. old baby choking.
