The way “Subaru” and Meili interacted last ep brought up the imagery of a sexual assault of a child. It genuinely made me so upset and uncomfortable. Imagine someone in your body doing something like that to a kid… The guilt is unimaginable. I feel so bad for Meili… My girl…

Honestly, I genuinely don't get where people found "romance" here, when most of their interactions felt more like family. In general, I'm honestly disgusted by any hints of romance between them - or maybe it's just the author trolling in the text lol

@joshuajuukulius Yeah I agree, more so on Anastasia's since there really was no real reason her death needed to be changed except for shock value I presume😭 just not a huge fan of unnecessary shifts from the LN.

Till this day I don't understand why Otsuka refuses to make the characters (especially the girls) angry looking or disgusted, like why Julius was the only one looking "evil" here when Subaru was thinking everyone were "bad people" who wanted him dead?

@emiliaelior Amnesia Subaru's inner thoughts was my favorite aspect of arc 4, especially around this part of the story where you really feel the affects of his memory loss and how he sees the others, it's a bit sad to see most of it gone even if the anime has been great so far.😭

fun fact: in the WN, Subaru puts his hands on Emilia's neck and she doesn’t feel threatened in the slightest. later he imagines she must‘ve had a carefree, perfect life to be so trusting.

@swordsaintlover I mean I agree it is absurd to think anyone would see Felt as anything but a 15 year old but I'd like to have some hope in the re:zero Fandom that they won't seriously ship a teenager and a grown man knowing their ages😭😭

@eastfried It really sucks because you can tell sega prioritizes making the cards merchandiseable first and foremost, and the passion you felt poured into the old illustrations is just not there anymore. I miss the times I was genuinely excited to see all the new banners😭

this entire sequence is genuinely amazing man. from Beatrice crying and begging Subaru not to die, to Subaru still dying alone nonetheless since Beatrice died before him, to Subaru's reactions afterwards, facial expressions, heavy breathing, it's all too fucking good

@OjeenKailon @aeolian550 lore drops in other media isnt a inherently bad, it just becomes a flaw when readers are basically obliged to consume them in order to fully understand the whole picture of a story, a narrative should be able to stand on its own.

@aeolian550 That's a flaw? He always puts some lore into every single media that is connected to Re:Zero. Be it any side-story, be it random arcade machine game, QA, other series like Isekai quartet. He just has a rule to always reward people when they engage with these media

lowkey we don't talk enough about one of Tappei's biggest flaws as a writer, that all this talk show/Q&A information just isn't being integrated into the story organically, like ik most of it is basically irrelevant but even then the amount of lore drops in his Q&As is ridiculous

@akudamadriver I think people are forgetting the fact that multiple guys called her cute, Kou fell for her when they first met, and no one seems to question the fact that she is Aoi's bff- she's not canonically ugly infact, its implied shes attractive😭😭
