This is yet another example of the difference between Judaism and Zionism.
Jews are not agents of a foreign country. The idea that Jews must automatically do the bidding of Israel, even though we are citizens and residents of the United States, is morally wrong, anti-American, and contrary to Torah. It also slanders Jews by portraying us as disloyal to our own country (unless one accepts the Zionist claim that Israel is somehow the country of all Jews everywhere, which itself is a slander).
These people are willing to throw fellow Jews — and their own country — under the bus in order to serve the interests of the State of Israel.
No doubt, this person will claim that Israeli lives are at stake and that he is merely trying to prevent bloodshed. But the American government has determined that American interests, including American lives, are better served by this deal. In doing so, it has also considered the positions and well-being of its allies, including Israel.
If an American citizen believes Israeli policy should override the policy of his own country, and if he is willing to endanger American Jews by publicly portraying them as loyal to a foreign state, then he needs to rethink several things:
First, he should rethink his faith in Netanyahu and in Israel’s claims about “security needs.” Just because Israel has a policy does not mean it protects lives. On the contrary, history has shown that Netanyahu, and Israel in general, is often willing to sacrifice even their own citizens' lives for political and ideological Zionist agendas — as seen, for example, in Israel’s long policy of propping up Hamas for political reasons.
Second, he should rethink his willingness to endanger Jewish lives and increase antisemitism, which is already on the rise, in order to fulfill the will of Israel’s government.
Third, he should rethink what it means to be an American citizen, with loyalty to and responsibility for the welfare of one’s own country.
And finally, he should sit down and be quiet.

Judaism is a religion. It is not an ethnicity. It has never been an ethnicity. You cannot convert to an ethnicity. You can convert to Judaism. Thousands of people do it every single year. A Black woman from Ethiopia, a white man from Brooklyn, a Chinese student from Shanghai, and an Argentine grandmother can all be Jewish. They share no common DNA, no common food, no common language, no common homeland. They share a faith.
You cannot convert to being Arab. You cannot convert to being Korean. You cannot convert to being Yoruba. Those are ethnicities. You are born into them. Judaism is a belief system. You choose it or you are raised in it. That is a religion by every definition that has ever existed.
Nobody says Christians are an ethnicity. Nobody says Muslims are an ethnicity. Nobody says Hindus are an ethnicity. Nobody says Buddhists are an ethnicity. But somehow Judaism gets a special classification that conveniently justifies a racial claim to land.
The ‘Jewish ethnicity’ myth serves one purpose: to turn a religious group into a nation, so that a political state can claim ancestral rights to territory. That’s it. That’s the whole function. Without the ethnicity claim, the ‘ancestral homeland’ argument collapses, because a religion doesn’t get a country. A religion gets a synagogue, a mosque, a church, a temple. Not a military occupation.
Ashkenazi Jews are genetically European. Mizrahi Jews are genetically Arab. Ethiopian Jews are genetically African. Sephardic Jews are genetically Mediterranean. The thing that connects them is faith. Not blood. Not soil. Faith.
And speaking of that faith, the Torah commands justice, mercy, the protection of the stranger, the dignity of every human life. ‘Do not oppress the stranger, for you know the heart of a stranger, because you were strangers in the land of Egypt.’ That’s Exodus. That’s not a suggestion. That’s a commandment.
Bombing hospitals is not Judaism. Starving children is not Judaism. Sniping medics is not Judaism. Caging two million people behind a wall is not Judaism. Using AI to calculate how many kids you’re allowed to kill per target is not Judaism. That is a political state hiding behind a religion it violates every single day.
Some of the most vocal opponents of Israel’s actions are Jewish people themselves. Orthodox Jews who say Zionism contradicts the Torah. Holocaust survivors who said ‘never again’ and meant it for everyone, not just themselves. Rabbis who stand with Palestinians because their actual faith demands it.
The state of Israel does not represent Judaism any more than ISIS represents Islam. The difference is the world figured that out about ISIS. They haven’t figured it out about Israel yet because the marketing budget is bigger.
