VFX breakdown rules are weird. MI7 pushed “practical” but released CGI breakdowns to get VFX Oscar and got nominated. MI8 had similar CGI but hid it to keep the “practical” angle and got ignored. Predator Badlands released breakdowns, but had to blur talent #FilmTwitter

Some clarification here: "no green screen" doesn’t mean "no VFX”. There were, in fact, thousands of VFX shots in the film (2018!) Green screen is sometimes used in lieu of building sets or figuring out locations/lighting in advance, which can be noticeable if not done carefully, and is something we didn’t want to do. We built the entire interior of the Hail Mary ship - but within the ship, there were still wire and puppeteer removals and ceiling replacements, etc. When Ryan is outside on the hull of the ship, we shot him in front of a black background for space and a shifting hue background when he was up against the aurora of a planet which allowed for truer interactive light on him than a green screen would. The wide space exteriors and spaceship shots were entirely digital and beautifully done by ILM. Rocky was a seamless blend of puppetry and animation from Framestore. And other great work from many more. It really does take a village and we had the best of the best on our side.

AI ads are about to cause the biggest wave of easy money the internet has ever seen for the first time in history, a solo creator with a laptop can go head-to-head with global brands - because creativity is the new leverage, not budget the winners won’t be the corporations with 20-person agencies, but people who know how to tell a story that hijacks attention in 1 second and never lets go right now the ads that print are basically mini-movies - weird characters, fast cuts, aggressive pacing, plot twists in 15 seconds and yet most marketers are still pumping out the same dead “here’s the product” content like it’s 2019 AI gives you the chance to make something so bizarre, emotional, or chaotic that people have no choice but to stop scrolling like, rt + reply with 'VAULT' and i'll send you the vault with best ai shots + prompts that you can copy (must follow so i can dm)

It really feels like they shot on an iphone purely for marketing purposes. With the size of the rig, you can easily use a small camera if you want a 'light footprint'

Danny Boyle says part of the reason they shot on iPhones with rigs for ‘28 YEARS LATER’ was so they could easily move around locations that looked apocalyptic. “[Using iPhones] allowed us to be very light, in our footprint, in areas of the country that we wanted to suggest hadn’t been touched for 28 years” (Source: youtube.com/watch?v=jz57_P…)
