@Sudric_Bob @crikey_fell @Tapped549080 for Thomas, similar way a LSWR radial made it to the highland railway during ww1. They needed engines and one was loaned for Gordon, he's not as overpowered as everyone makes him out to be. The NWR mainline is hilly so needs a powerful engine like Gordon, without him the express

@theburiedtruck usually double headed or top and tailed, iirc with the top and tailed ones are for reversal moves so they dont need to run around

@SortaScouse Is it typical to have two locos top-and-tailing nuclear waste trains, even one of that size?

@Expl_Cookie So if a run from Knapford to Vicarstown takes roughly 20-30 minutes in game. How long would the run take if it was 1:1 scale?

I've seen some people complain that the Island is scaled down compared to what it *should* be, however I think Jerome is completely correct - if it was any longer, people would get bored and complain! It's perfect for the purpose it is meant to serve.
Jerome@starlightfan02

One thing i do think Wonders of Sodor pulled off perfectly is the map size/scale Both The Mainline and Thomas' branchline are just long enough to give you a solid run down the railway but not too long that it starts to become boring It's very well designed and pulled off!

1902: A revolution amidst the British railways came before the Great Western, George Jackson Churchward produced his prototype 'No. 100', definitively marking the absolute basis of GWR Locomotive design in the coming decades.

Historically NWR services past Barrow were hauled by another company/region but due to privatisation they now have to provide their own motive power, during the early days of privatisation there was a bit of a locomotive shortage for these services so some locos were loaned to -
