Here's the thing, and I wish the young man nothing but the best, but I was critical of this clip... I tried to make it clear that I was trying to discuss his actions, a mistake if you view it as such, but a few have taken my words out of context and put words in my mouth. The kid is a stud, I really don't think I should have to address that, bc if you have ever seen baseball you'd know the kids got every tool you can ask for.... But the most important tool he has right now are guys like you and his other very influential coaches involved in his life when he is the most mendable, if you will. He's got guys that do and always will have his back- which every successful player needs. I was admittedly critical of the action, still don't agree with it, but never attacked the young man as a ball player. You and I both know if you are trying to predict the next decade of someone's life, you can't look at a 20 second clip of him hitting a double in a playoff game and base the young man's character on that single clip. If you base your entire opinion on that 20 second clip you shouldn't be able to have an opinion, it's ignorant because there literally is not enough context or information. At the the of the day, this can be used for a lot of good, both in regards to HIS future, as well as the potential impact he can have on the guys that will look him up, follow him and see his career flourish over the next few years... If we can get people to separate the Player from the action, they'll be able to see how #Doods like this guy operate on a daily basis, instead of completely judging a kid based on a 20 second clip. My sincere hope is that we can get guys to do what my original INTENTION was, which was to bring attention to a growing issue in baseball and use that particular example as just that and nothing more. Best of luck If the young man has the makeup that you AND MANY OTHERS have brought attention to, I would imagine he is also mature enough to be able to say "I let my emotions take over in an emotional moment. Was it a mistake? Sure, you can look at it that way if that's what makes you learn from it.. I know I learned from that moment." And to be honest,

This is the evil part of social media that sucks. Not one player in the last 10 years who has been in our dugout has played the game as hard as @slade_caldwell does. He’s the greatest person, great player, all the cliche things that you could post. He truly is a once in a lifetime human being, but according to one double off the wall he’s everything but that. Social media can fool you unfortunately, even when it looks true! Hit a few more doubles this week and go win another state championship!
