Sycamore have really enjoyed listening to the Masked Readers reading their favourite books and poems this week. On Thursday they dressed up as their own favourite characters for World Book Day.

Sycamore were excited to plant their gage tree in Rackham's new orchard and to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee as part of the Queen's Green Canopy initiative. We look forward to seeing it grow and thrive.

In Maths today, Sycamore children took part in a timed challenge to think of all the different ways they could make or represent a number using their knowledge of the 2, 4 and 8 times tables.

This week we are making plaster models of Ancient Egyptian Mummies. Today we applied modroc to the newspaper mummies we made yesterday. We will be painting them later in the week.

As part of National Poetry Day, Sycamore enjoyed performing a Harvest Poem together as a class and listening to the poem "Chocolate" by Michael Rosen as part of our Science lesson, which involved a melting chocolate investigation.
