Congrats to Dr. Nick Battista for receiving an NSF grant! His research aims to deepen our understanding of fluid dynamics and how it influences all sorts of small organisms, such as how coral catch their prey.

Dr. Jana Gevertz received the Society of Mathematical Biology’s Distinguished Service Award. This award honors service in the field of mathematical biology, service for the Society of Mathematical Biology, and contributions beyond achievements in research. Congratulations!

Dr. Matt Mizuhara received an NSF grant to fund his research on self-similarity on dynamical networks. Self-similarity manifests in real-world networks in multiple ways, from the the Internet, dendritic trees of neurons, and social and epidemiological networks. Congratulations!

Shoutouts to Annie Menninger whose passion for teaching led her to North Brunswick High School! Congratulations Annie!

This week we are spotlighting Michael Chiumento, who earned his undergraduate degree in applied mathematics, and is now a senior audit manager at Bank of America. Let's congratulate Michael on all of his successes!
