Twitter has clarified their position. From this point on, apps that attempt to recreate the Twitter experience will not be allowed to access Twitter services. Unfortunately, this ultimately means that Talon will cease to work. theverge.com/2023/1/19/2356…

This issue is not unique to Talon. All, or most, third party apps appear to be experiencing the same issue.

If I do receive further information, I will pass it on to everyone here.

@Lhtruong @jonas_alday a fix has already been uploaded to the Play Store. I do not know how long it will take them to release it.

@TalonAndroid A heads up, I'm having an issue viewing any gifs that are a part of any tweet. Only gifs, images and videos come up fine It also freezes Talon for 15 seconds every time Never encountered this problem before today but it's possible it has been going on longer

@RogerBlumberg @lukeklinker nothing is broken and there is nothing to fix. Just because you don't like something does not mean that others agree with you. Perhaps there is a reason that this is the color Google has selected for themselves and their design suggestions. I will be following their example.

.@lukeklinker ; the new & extreme change of background color of the default "dark" theme for your @TalonAndroid Twitter client is UNACCEPTABLE – it's FAR TOO DARK, and now BROWN, not even green. Compare these identical screenshots:

@RogerBlumberg @lukeklinker that is what normally happens when you decide to insult and personally attack people on Twitter, during a discussion. I can't believe that you would be surprised by the outcome. The app is open source. Feel free to customize and build it however you want.

All third party apps are having the same issue. The fix will have to come from Twitter's side.

@guidok this isn't something I plan to do. The app is open source though. Anyone could add this in to Talon

@HeathQuinnArt Twitter's third party search only provides 10 days of results. There will be no work around.

@Tom4nash local trends get pulled from Twitter, whenever you visit that page. They are never cached. If that is what is shown, then that is what Twitter is providing talon

@talonandroid how can I see my own tweets, only? Since using Talon, I haven’t gotten any acknowledgements on Twitter. They must be hidden or not going through.

@JoGibney you can tell the app how many tweets you want to refresh, from sync settings. The default is 200.

@guntherman7 there is an option to backup settings under the app memory section.

@TalonAndroid is there a way to transfer favorite users and other settings from one phone to another?
