Early this month, I was really in a dark place. A draft of students eligible for taking a licensing exam- AMLSCN was released, but my name wasn't included. I had cleared all my papers and never had a carryover. I proceeded to rectify the issue, in the process, I was told 2 of my results were missing. Where did I know to start looking from? Where did I want to start looking for 2, not 1 result from in a school with a broken system, where little to no one cares enough to carry your burdens on their shoulders. I never had a carryover, but I suffered more than people who had carryovers, just trying to sort myself out. The baseline for this batch was 200, and the list was rapidly getting filled. For one month, I toiled, I begged, I made unnecessary expenses, I gave up hope, I fell into a place of no clarity. One day, while scrolling through X, I saw this same tweet from Hallelujah Challenge, at first, I shrugged it off my shoulders, as I had already come to terms with the obvious - there was no way out of 2 missing results and way into a list that was almost complete. But I held onto this word- "The storm won't destroy you, it will work for your lifting." Miraculously, I made the list. I sat for the exam on Wednesday and Thursday, an exam with many unthinkable uncertainties, only 2 outcomes were possible, Fail or Pass, no A, B, C, D, and E. Results came out on Thursday night, to the Glory of God, I passed. I truly believe, most storms wouldn't destroy you. Hallelujah!

How to become dangerously smarter as a woman:

As a teenager, curiosity drove me to go down the rabbit hole. I relished sitting in rooms where important issues affecting nationals and community members were discussed and many arguments were made about them - just different perspectives placed on the table. In JSS2, I joined the debate club. Everyone thought I'd be a lawyer, my principal too. Aside from uninformed choices and low levels of exposure, something about the identity of a lawyer didn't stick even when I spent my holidays indoors studying to improve my arguments. Well, I didn't end up a lawyer. I chose a path that wasn't meant for me, but I learnt in the process. My DEGREE doesn't define who I am. It is just a scratch compared to the depth of my personality and purpose. Early this year, life placed the pieces together to solve the puzzle. My love for holding witty arguments and facilitating people's change of perspective was my purpose telling me I was made for Advocacy. When my cousin mentioned SDG randomly to me last year, curiosity led me to dig deeper. Today, I'm glad to be offered the opportunity to answer to my purpose. Reassurance is a communication tool that builds openness in a relationship- platonic or romantic. Amongst many personal choices, the reason I tell the truth is because I heard these words from my mom each time I was asked a question and she needed sincerity, "Tell me the truth, I won't beat you." And she truly held onto her side of the deal. By this, I learnt to tell the truth more and now, although some very tough positions require a concession - like covering for a friend's mistake when she/he didn't mean for it to happen, and after weighing the consequences certain mistakes can incur, I subconsciously tell the truth. Selah!
