I messed up multiple times before and there are ones who didn't forgive me, yes I didn't enjoy that, but I wouldn't have learned to be more cautious and to know and keep boundaries if I hadn't gone through the painful experiences.

Forgiveness is about personally choosing to no longer feel such extreme emotions towards a situation on a case-by-case basis so you can think rationally about your actions going forward.
