Today, the Hon. Minister for Agriculture signed an MoU on behalf of the Government of Ghana and the Legislative Council of Nebraska State in the USA.
Nebraska is one of the world’s leading producers in livestock production, making this partnership a strategic step towards transforming Ghana’s agricultural sector.
As part of the agreement, plans are underway to establish a dairy processing plant and a meat processing plant in Ghana. Currently, Ghana imports about 90% of its dairy products, so this partnership will help reduce importation, boost local production, create jobs and strengthen the economy.
We are gradually changing the narrative 💪🏾🤲🏿

I commend Ghana’s hardworking High Commissioner to South Africa, H.E. Benjamin Quarshie for locating the young Ghanaian who missed out on our updated evacuation notice and was the only Ghanaian to report at the O.R. Tambo Airport yesterday.
The young Ghanaian by name Sylvester Boakye can be assured that he would not be left out of the planned evacuations expected to cover some 800 people.
No Ghanaian desirous of returning home would be left behind.
The High Commissioner’s meeting with Mr. Sylvester Boakye in our Pretoria diplomatic mission today further exposes fake news reports that Mr. Boakye was the only Ghanaian evacuated to Ghana by our chartered flight.
Clearly, Mr. Sylvester Boakye was not airlifted to Ghana as there was no chartered flight sent by the Government of Ghana due to an agreement with South African authorities to defer the evacuation pending the addressing of legal, technical and logistical matters.
Truth stands; and truth always wins.
