Canada is investing in the next generation of agricultural workers. Our federal government has announced up to $27 million for the Youth Employment and Skills Program (YESP) over the next two years. Starting in 2026–27, this program will feature a more streamlined application process to better support youth seeking jobs in agriculture.
It's great news for farmers and youth here in Kitchener-Conestoga and across the country!

Last night in Kitchener, I had the privilege of joining our community for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's annual Interfaith and Multicultural “Flavours of Iftar” dinner.
As Ramadan continues, it was a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the power of Iftar. There is something special about breaking bread together. A shared meal has a way of opening hearts, building understanding, and reminding us of what we have in common.

Today, communities in Kitchener-Conestoga and around the world will celebrate Lunar New Year.
During this time, also known as the Spring Festival, families and friends will come together to celebrate and participate in various festivities, including family meals, cultural performances, fireworks, and parades.
Last year, I was graciously invited by the Waterloo Region Chinese Canadian Association to join them for their annual event.
To celebrate, I surprised them by learning and performing a song in Cantonese - an experience I will never forget!
