Next time someone asks how I use my PhD, I’m going to say “In my email signature.”

I've used LaTeX a bunch for writing papers. This year decided I would use it to make a cookbook for my family with some of their favorite recipes. Took way longer to do that I expected, but I finished it today!

@masonfidino Im teaching a workshop on using git in RStudio in a couple weeks. I’ve also taught git only using only the GitHub web interface. So many low pressure entry points!

3. A bit more complicated, but use version control! You don’t need to do it from the command line either, the GitHub desktop app can get you started on working with version control (or you can even do it through Rstudio). 4/6

2. Programming is not Lord of the Rings, we do not need one script to rule them all. Write smaller scripts that do specific things (e.g., prep_data.R, fit_models.R, plot_results.R). Compartmentalizing makes it easier to locate the code you need to work on! 3/6

@TobinMagle Hi Tobin — thanks for reaching out. The Safe Space is a room where attendees can report any safety concerns they may have throughout the conference.

Sitting in the back of a plenary room is really informing my future slide design. And also where I should sit at these sessions

@TobinMagle I have to breathe carefully in most taxies/ubers/lyfts because of air fresheners or perfumes. I get motion sickness on a dime (even turning my head too fast is a problem) and strong smells do not help. Hope the conference goes well!

Unfortunate coincidences: every time I travel I get a migraine. Every time I get in an Uber, there’s way too much air freshener. Oh well. Off to #PEARC23
