There’s something about Sandra Hüller’s performance in PROJECT HAIL MARY, both precise and effortless. She softens the edges of a character who, in the book, was a bit one-dimensional and annoying, making her far more human. And that karaoke scene!

Comparing PROJECT HAIL MARY to INTERSTELLAR in any way is doing anyone going to see it a major disservice.
Very tonally different movies.

The “fishing” sequence in PROJECT HAIL MARY is as good as the “docking” sequence in INTERSTELLAR. There. I said it.

@RealMovieBuff92 I’m torn on it because again it’s no doubt a good film. I actually thought at one point I needed a tissue box. But it’s also Phil lord and Chris miller who you can argue have never missed. It’s mid tier. It had seven different ending scenes as well I was so confused

@RealMovieBuff92 This is definitely a good movie. Going into being told it’s a masterpiece doesn’t help. Also I realized it about taste as well. I like my space operas along the lines of R Scott’s the Martian this feels more like a family film and slightly ridiculous like babe pig in the city.

Project Hail Mary is one of my favorite movies of the year so far…
…and I didn’t love it.
Really entertaining, great structure, Gosling is fantastic, and Rocky absolutely works.
But I never fully felt the emotional weight.
Still, top 5 of the year.

Yep, #ProjectHailMary is pretty great. It’s a little more “out there” than The Martian, don’t know if it’ll get awards love, but it’s definitely going to end up being one of the best films of the year.
Absolutely loved it! Phil Lord and Chris Miller are brilliant!

PROJECT HAIL MARY is the rare film where you come out and just say... "no notes."
Even if you have a complaint or two, why bother? It just works so seamlessly as mass-market, mass-appeal entertainment.
It's preposterously charming, a perfect popcorn movie.

@RhodeToLove My favorite part about the film. If she isn’t a frontrunner for any of her other projects this year we need to start a convo now about how she is supporting actress worthy in this film. An immediate frontrunner in that category IMO
