Bitcoin $BTC just triggered its first blue star on the WEEKLY chart in almost a year. Let's see if it can finish the week at or above this level, its still very early. But this is exciting... These DO NOT miss on the weekly timeframe for bitcoin.

@TreeLineTrade What are you talking about? I can scroll the chart to the left pretty easily….

@martinfxtrade Take all the inputs in the strategy, and tweak them +\- 4 steps. Track the metric changes on each step, if the change is massive then I know I have an overfit input. Also backtest the start on different exchanges and similar time frames.

@TreeLineTrade That’s a solid approach. Improving without overfitting is the hard part. How do you know when you’ve optimized enough and not overdone it?

Stop chasing trades.

@martinfxtrade Absolutely, But I just remind myself of what I said before. I do take the time in drawdowns to tweak and improve the workings of the Strat. There is always room for improve as long as you are careful to not overfit it.

@TreeLineTrade That makes sense. Knowing what your system is built for changes everything. Do you ever feel tempted to switch strategies during drawdowns?

By understanding what my strategy is optimized for. I’m in drawdown right now, because the strategy is not built for mean reverting trash. When a trend eventually breaks out, and it will, the system will outperform massively. I also day traded for 3 years so I have a decent understanding of the entire game already.

@TreeLineTrade That’s true. I think most people underestimate how hard it is to sit through drawdowns. How do you personally deal with that?

@martinfxtrade If you can accept what you are doing, and understand that large returns come with time. It’s much easier. Difficult with day trading because you can lose a a weeks worth of gains in one day. Not even necessarily by poor trades, just by the performance of the system.

@Sykodelic_ This exact reason is why I just create algorithmic strategies. Rather than mess around trying to navigate the market with discretion.

It would be the most shocking outcome. Everyone expecting a bear flag... "$40k soon bro for sure". And then Bitcoin just does this. When something becomes obvious to the most average of investor... It very rarely happens. Markets have a way of conditioning you into believing something is coming, through consistent repititon and emotional manipulation... And then doing the opposite. Its literally how the market makers win. I'm not stating this will 100% play out... But if you are not prepared for it, you will be caught offside. Which then leads the fomo chasing rally and that sends us higher. Its not where you want to be. I've been there.

@WizzyOnChain Most likely this will resolve to the upside. But that does not mean you should be placing blind bets on it. Ensure you have a profitable & robust strategy in place to capture this move.

@Cointelegraph No it does not. But it’s important to not blindly throw money at it just because it’s at cycle lows. Put a strategy in place to capture the breakout when or if it comes.
