He thought it was a good opportunity to get Nishant into the game since he's a top-order batter who has sometimes ended up batting too low because the team got off to a good start. It was a decision that had happened before as well. I think I had batted at No. 4 once previously, and at Kolkata he was sent ahead of me again. So it wasn't the only time that happened. Right or wrong, it just didn't work out for us. When I went in to bat, I felt I needed to take the innings a little deep after we had lost a few wickets. The plan was to go at around a run a ball for a while and then accelerate by finding boundaries. But I just couldn't get those boundaries, and eventually I was dismissed by a very good piece of bowling. Krunal Pandya is a smart operator. He saw me coming and bowled that wide, fast yorker, and I got stumped. It was disappointing. Scoring worse than a run a ball in an IPL Final isn't a great look. But I had a clear plan in my head, and I still think it was the right plan, I just didn't execute it well enough. I think if we had managed to get to around 180, it would have been a really, really good score.
