i didnt realize sasaki to miyano was now criminal. i did a stream about a year ago talking about this because some misguided catholic mom in florida wanted the book banned from a library and didnt even read it. sasaki to miyano does not have any conflict, and is one of the slowest stories i have ever read. normally i dont have the patience for lack of conflict, but the art was so cute and the characters were just enjoyable. (oh i should add they dont even kiss till like vol6? its literally hundreds of pages of "do i like him? is it weird i like him? does he like me? i dont think he likes me, but i'll wait. oh hes so pretty. no i have to wait.") but i guess the issue is the "highschool setting". exploring first loves is a nono to the purists. sasaki to miyano is actually a manga i would encourage to anyone who like bl because it has good communication and shows how normal it is for mundane things to feel overwhelming, but in terms of compelling story- you REALLLYYYYY have to be into slice of life. i am not, but i liked this. lord knows the puritans of today would never survive the golden era. I am absolutely certain one of my favorite classics would land me in mosquito moralpolice prison. i think this came out in 2007~, i had not even graduated highschool yet and this gem graced my life.
