I'm only a fuck*ng simp of Ashley Graham (and a little love for ethan too), everything else in Resident Evil matters way less to me

Soooo you rather seeing women getting abused irl instead of them coping with fictional characters?

“there is rumours that the 6th li might be a married man” god let this be real because it would be so bad and so fucking funny

I think this fandom needs a reminder on why suspension of disbelief is important when going through fiction, especially for ZayneMC. What is the intention of the media and how does the media portray a certain thing? Because there are things in fiction that are written to let you explore a specific fantasy. This applies to all LI and fiction. LADS is an Otome game where you get the fantasy of dating 5 LI’s who explore different tropes and concepts. They’re all rich and people could have conversations about power imbalance financially but that is not something the game says or indicates is used to dictate or power over MC. A “rich” boyfriend/husband is one or the oldest things seen as desirable with the links to success and security we attach to wealth, thus it’s made clear none of the LI are wanting in that respect to allow you to fulfil the fantasy. That said, you never see the idea of their wealth brought up in terms of a power imbalance in terms of what happens in the game or MC purely dating them for monetary gain. As much as medical malpractice absolutely does apply in real life to a patient-doctor relationship and a lot of Zayne mains who actually work in medicine have reinforced their relationship isn’t realistic and should NOT be seen as something to emulate IRL, the game itself has never positioned ZayneMC’s dynamic with him as a doctor as an abuse of power because you get the safe *fantasy* of dating your doctor in the fictional setting where the fiction itself does not posit any issues with the dynamic. Everyone at the hospital knows and are supportive of it, Zayne’s parents are supportive, Dr Noah - MC’s prior doctor and Zayne’s mentor is supportive, Josephine - MC’s guardian - subtly is also supportive through her limited screen time. If you say “oh it’s because he’s a higher up no one wants to go against him” - but this is something you would be making excuses for and injecting that isn’t actually in the fiction or how the otome game is exploring letting you live the FANTASY of dating your doctor. In real life, if you knew your patient beforehand it would be an issue, but this a piece of romantic fiction where you need to suspend your disbelief, especially as the sci-fi fantasy settings are used to modify how the narratives look BEYOND real life. They have ZayneMC as childhood sweethearts who separated to make it clear that their feelings pre-date their reunion and they did not first meet within the doctor-patient dynamic, BUT knew eachother before so the power imbalance was not a contributing factor to their feelings. Zayne is specialised in terms of his field of cardiology and research to look after MC, this feeds directly into him talking about how he wanted to heal her heart out of guilt because of the childhood incident and he just wants to do right by her. They are literally making sure you know this fictional fantasy is an extremely exceptional circumstance. If you’ve read ZayneMC’s early content you’ll notice they start off as friends and MC often is the one pushing for their relationship to be more and every next step in the relationship is at *her* pace. If you also remember the first Bond “Frozen Promise” which takes place 6 months prior to the main story starting you see Zayne is extremely awkward and the two struggle to communicate but begin to rekindle their friendship. Please give our adult main character the autonomy she deserves when talking about her choices, she isn’t a meek fool in her romances but leads all the dynamics into romance. Zayne in DAR tries to RESIGN from the hospital out of fear the childhood incident would repeat because he cares about MC’s safety first and foremost. The game’s writing makes it clear he values HER over any feelings of his own. The whole point of fiction and otome dynamics like this is to let you safely explore the “what if” of getting to live that fantasy. Same thing with your colleague, the man you were adopted with, the guy from an “enemy” faction etc.
