No one is doing “leftists” more of a favor than handing Trump Midterm losses as a result of the MAGA civil war between the anti-Iran war crowd and the pro-war/Israel wing.
At some point, realism will need to enter the picture:
Just as the far left was about to own the antisemitic reputation as a consequence of the Gaza war and the campus protests during Biden’s last year or so in office, Jew Derangement Syndrome erupts in MAGA shortly after Trump took office last year.
Likely much of this was driven initially by bots — funded by Iran? Act Blue? China? — to swarm MAGA influencers on X, always with the same message: “You’re covering for the Jews!"
It’s disgusting and likely the product of a coordinated effort to take down #MAGA. The problem is, it’s having a real effect. Half of MAGA is now convinced that Trump has no agency — he’s been “tricked” by Netanyhau.
This has gone hand-in-hand with looking at the Iran war in a one-dimensional manner in which only Israel benefits from our actions. (Never mind that arguably Iran, Venezuela and Russian oil and the related BRICS flight from the petrodollar, threatens to collapse our debt financing and with it our economy — with or without this war to blame!)
Having said all this, if President Trump fires Tulsi Gabbard before he deals with “party hardy Patel” or replaces “Do nothing Bondi” with Todd “no crimes in the Epstein files” Blanche, the Trump administration will divide a fractured base still further.
Between the bots, Jew Derangement Syndrome and the Trump administration’s self-inflicted wounds, MAGA is dealing itself a death blow.
Firing #TulsiGabbard is the equivalent Donald Trump tying a blindfold around his head, putting his fingers in his ears and going “La, la, la, la, la I can’t heeeear you!!” — and expecting to have something good come of that kind of willfully blind “leadership”.
Meanwhile, the base is bizarrely oblivious too.
To the fans of #LauraLoomer, #MarkLevin, #CandaceOwens, #TuckerCarlson, #AlexJones and the rest: Regardless of how you feel about Israel or the Iran war — this MAGA split promotes one certainty:
Midterm election losses.
What will happen after that? The President will face not only impeachment but the 25th Amendment.
Ask yourself: Will it have been worth it if the coalition that brought Trump into office (“too big to rig”) is disenfranchised and doesn’t turn out in support of Republicans this November?
To the war hawks: It's not rational to argue that #Netanyahu can do no wrong even as the IDF kills the Iranians the Trump Administration is attempting to negotiate with — making Trump look like a fool!
To the doves: It’s also not *rational* to argue after Iran apparently tested ICBM’s in joint exercises with Russia in January and placed an order for hypersonic weapons from China in February to argue that Iran is only a regional threat!
For more than 40 years, Iran has tagged Israel “Little Satan” and the the USA “Great Satan”. So it’s not rational to assume that turning our backs on Israel puts us in the clear.
To the extent Iran presented a nuclear threat, they have more reason to double down now: The Twelve Day War likely only handed the regime a propaganda boon with which to convince the Iranian population that uranium enrichment is necessary to hold off Little Satan and Great Satan!
At the same time, those who are questioning this war — who point out that not only #oil, LNG and #inflation are at stake but fertilizer and food security for much of the world — are NOT imagining things.
They don’t deserve to be gaslit by the neocon wing.
The two sides of this MAGA split are acting like the other side is completely off their rocker, which serves no one — except, perhaps, the Marxist left!
And for what?
So influencers on opposite sides of this debate can make a killing in social media traffic (clickbait)?
We’re not just looking at Midterm losses, but a MAGA brand left so fragmented and toxic it burns down the path to 2028 for JD Vance, Rubio, Cruz and others.
Is it worth it?
Consider the likely outcome in Iran: The regime will in all probability reconstitute itself because neocon war hawks are incapable of understanding that that would require an end to Shia Islam itself, which is what the regime represents. (As a counterpart to Iran, look how fast Afghanistan relapsed into Taliban control!)
One can’t kill an idea with bombs or even boots on the ground.
We have to face the facts: We can’t even solve decades of gang violence in Chicago or the transnational drug cartel problem, let alone conflicts that are rooted in the Islamic vs. Judeo-Christian divide.
The Mideast is a cesspool of ancient tribal conflicts that will never be solved by “limited” strikes — that’s WHY the term "forever war” is part of the national lexicon!
Mideast wars have left many Americans rightly skeptical. Meanwhile, the indicted Netanyahu, facing the prospect of prison were it not for his position as a wartime leader, is apparently hellbent on digging his own grave at others’ expense.
Bottom Line
If the Iranian nuclear threat is undermined, it will have to be enough. Everything else leads to forever war and the death of MAGA.
Unless members of Trump's own base are happy to perform favors for the radical left, it’s time for pragmatic considerations — realism — to prevail.
