#MyUAE

Over 40 days, 2,819 missiles and drones struck energy infrastructure and civilian sites across the UAE. Despite the Emirates’ phenomenal achievement in protecting the homeland via its advanced interception capabilities and military skill, the human and material cost will not be forgotten. A ceasefire is only the beginning of the next phase, not a solution, and it is clear we will face an unacceptable level of uncertainty for a period. Durable security in this region requires addressing the policy foundations of instability: nuclear, ballistic, proxy, and maritime threats together. That said, the UAE has grown and thrived over a period of decades which saw more than their fair share of regional crises and uncertainty - resilience to such an environment is baked into our system and our policy, and we will not let it hold us back even as we do what we must to confront those who stand against progress in our region.

@Marmar_Q A homeland that makes room for everyone without asking anyone to be less of who they are. For me, 26 years here and that is still what moves me most about this place. My Arabic is not so good but: ❤️ خيرنا من الإمارات 💚🤍🖤

The past few weeks reminded all of us that taking care of the mind matters as much as the body. This Tuesday we are hosting a free workshop at @Real_Pilates JLT with Nafsi Health. A clinical psychologist and one of our instructors, together for one hour on managing anxiety and building resilience through movement and breathwork. Free. Open to all. Spots are limited. Tuesday April 14, 7:30PM. ONE JLT Building, 1st Floor. Book through the Real Pilates app or website.

@saif_aldareei Iranian by origin. French by upbringing. Dubaian by 26 years of life built here in safety and happiness. The UAE is the only place I know where all three of those identities coexist without tension. That is what makes this place unlike anywhere else in the world.

3,000 missiles and drones. And the city kept moving. Groceries, transport, healthcare, daily life. I have been here 26 years and lived through every regional crisis in that time. The UAE's ability to absorb pressure without losing composure is not accidental. It is the result of decades of deliberate, patient institution building.

Almost 3000 missiles and drones were directed at the UAE. And we went on about our lives, accessed public transport, healthcare and did groceries like it was just another day. It’s an unbelievable achievement by @modgovae The UAE leadership is 🔥 🇦🇪

This resonated deeply. I wrote something similar this week, though from a different angle: 26 years here, Iranian by birth, French by upbringing, Dubaian by everything that followed. The conclusion was the same as yours. You don't run from a place that holds when everything is tested. You realise you belong.

You Don’t Know a Country Until It’s Tested🧵 Eight months after moving to Dubai… I was under missile alerts. I had already built a life. Not something I was trying to escape, but something real, stable, and earned over time. America was my home. But in my heart, I knew I wasn’t done. There was something bigger ahead of me… if I was willing to take the leap. So I packed up my life… and leaped into the unknown. Dubai met me with momentum the moment I arrived. There’s an energy here that pushes you forward whether you’re ready or not. And I was ready. I leaned into it, building again, feeling a kind of fire I hadn’t felt in years. And then, eight months in… everything changed overnight. The alerts started. Not the kind you can ignore. Missile alerts. The kind that force you to stop… and take cover. I had leaped into a war in the Middle East. There was a moment where I questioned everything. What did I do? Why am I here? Did I make the right decision leaving everything behind… to find myself alone under missile alerts? Everyone I knew left. But this was my home now. There was no going back. Dubai, the city I knew, suddenly quiet. Streets emptied. The noise faded. And for the first time, I felt the weight of what it meant to be here. But beneath that… there was something steadier. Because when everything else falls away… what’s left is the foundation. And that’s what I began to see. A version of the UAE very few people ever get to witness. A country that didn’t react with panic… but responded with precision. Systems already in place, moving without spectacle. A shield rising quietly. Order taking over. I saw a nation move as one. It was like we all understood the assignment. I saw expats… the few who chose to stay… become part of that system. I saw life keep moving, in silence. And in that… something settled in. A trust. The realization that this wasn’t a reaction… the systems were designed this way. And that’s when it all shifted for me. I wasn’t just witnessing it. I was now a part of it. Part of the people still standing in it… moving through it… trusting it. It changed how I understand strength. Not loud. Not reactive. Grounded. Intentional. Consistent. It changed how I see leadership. The type that holds when everything is tested. And I saw it… In the quiet. In the order. In the way everything continued when it would have been easier to panic. I didn’t just leap into a country during a vulnerable moment… I leaped into a moment that revealed what a country, its people, and its leadership are truly made of. There are people who will always look at this place from the outside and think they understand it. But they haven’t seen what I’ve seen. They haven’t felt what it’s like when everything is stripped down to its core… and it still holds together. And once you experience that… you don’t run from it. You realize you’re here for such a time as this.

This is exactly right. What protected millions of residents during those days was not luck, it was decades of deliberate, patient investment in systems that work. As someone who has been building a business here since 2009 across multiple regional crises, that foresight is the foundation everything else rests on.

I’m genuinely grateful for the foresight of this country’s leadership. While others debate, the UAE built one of the most advanced multi-layered air defense systems in the world. That investment started nearly two decades ago. Today, it’s keeping millions of residents safe and it has been battle tested. Thank you to the UAE Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces. Forward thinking saves lives 🇦🇪

@al_afndee Reordered priorities is exactly the right phrase. For those of us who have built lives and businesses here across multiple decades and multiple crises, the priorities were never in doubt. What this moment did was make that visible to the world in a way that was long overdue.

The UAE emerges from this experience with greater clarity, sharper insight, and a more firmly grounded position in the regional landscape. A moment that reordered priorities and anchored a presence from which the future is shaped with confidence and steadiness. 🇦🇪

@asmaalizain This reflects exactly what we lived at @Real_Pilates across all our locations. Clients kept coming. Studios stayed open. The city carried on. Dubai's restraint and composure during the heaviest days of the crisis was remarkable, and completely underreported internationally.

Despite being hit the heaviest in all these days, the UAE has commendably shown restraint and played a defensive role only. Yes, people and businesses are shook but we never ran out of fresh foods, water or power cuts. We have carried on with our daily routines despite everything 👏🏼
