Considering the bsc mental health nursing and adult nursing courses are so similar, I’m so disappointed that the midwifery top up is only offered to registered adult nurses

@dan_warrender I was on the old curriculum for 1 yr and the new standards for 2yrs. I am a RMHN and the course is pretty much an adult nursing course with field specific placements. It has changed, and sadly not for the better. Something needs to be done! Only good for adult nursing students

@RMN_Ellie I know! More so, the one ✨policy✨ says 6 months experience for band 6, though course that’s reportedly out of date with no evidence of a new one. Hoping to hear back from HR soon..

Worked so hard to get my band 6, to be told I’m not allowed to start it until I’m 12 months qualified, whilst others in my cohort are allowed to commence there’s… equal opportunities?!

@alyshapunc18 I'm guessing it is the NHS pay progression changes HR are referring to. There are annual progression appraisals required before pay steps. If you have a union membership, worth seeking their advice. nhsemployers.org/articles/pay-p…
